This paper provides an overview of the Thematic Fund for Maternal Health initiated by UNFPA.
The aim of the Fund is to raise nearly $500 million to save the lives of women who experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
The thematic fund will focus on supporting 75 countries with the greatest need. In addition to its focus on meeting countries' needs, it will demonstrate good practices for scaling up efforts. It will be launched in a phased manner.
