Given the extensive humanitarian needs in 2024, exacerbated by economic collapse and persistent mass displacement, women and girls in Syria and refugee-hosting countries increasingly rely on humanitarian assistance. The consequences of underfunding are significant and far-reaching.

In 2024, UNFPA is appealing for a total of $132.5 million, covering the Whole of Syria, Türkiye, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt. These funds will ensure that women and girls across the region can access high-quality sexual and reproductive health services, as well as programmes designed to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
